PreK CLASS Observation & Feedback
You will have a CLASS observer, trained by Teachstone Learning. The PreK classroom will be observed, then followed by immediate feedback. CLASS is intended to help teachers and directors measure and improve student-teacher interactions. Your CLASS observation and feedback results are a perfect opportunity to set goals and work with a coach to improve your program!
A CLASS observation can provide teachers with "Demonstrated Competencies" in their PDIS portfolio and also adds points for the CO Shines score in "Learning Environment" (sections 4.7-4.9).
Unlike some observations, you will get your score AND a feedback document that day! You will also be offered the opportunity for 1 hour of additional coaching, driven by the results from the observation.
Preparing for a CLASS rating
Getting a classroom rating shouldn’t be scary! Preparing for a rating can make a rating go more smoothly. Understanding the tool will allow teachers to feel more relaxed, confident and comfortable during the time of observation. This training goes over the objectives and dimensions. You can also so a “mock rating” with data review and feedback session! *Virtual training (in person may be available upon request)
